Every since I was little I loved playing with my hair. I was blessed with what one would call a magnificent mane that could sometimes be a chore to maintain. Every Sunday evening my mom would wash and braid my hair into several individual braids and then put multicolored barrettes at the bottom. I hated it. It would take forever. But let me tell you, as soon she was done and I caught my reflection in the mirror, Giiirrrrl, you couldn’t tell me nothin’! I would start posing and swinging those braids around like I was Pocahontas.
Ain’t nothing changed.
Give me a fresh weave, a new set of individuals (box braids), or a new wig, and my camera will be full of new selfies. I still don’t care for the process of washing and detangling my hair. It still takes a whole day to complete. So I generally opt for a low maintenance option, such as a weave, wig, or braids.
The greatest thing about black hair is the versatility that we have. In the spand of a month, I would go through 3-4 different hairstyles, without doing anything drastic to my own hair. I try no to change it so frequent, I don’t want to confuse the people I work with! I never know what I want to do next.
Check in soon to see what I decide!
